We Wander

Two twenty-somethings searching out the meaning of life through travel and fun.

Shopping April 21, 2008

We spent a large portion of our weekend shopping for things we wanted to be sure we took with us on the trip. We got C a jacket which seems like a simple enough task but wasn’t really at all. First off, he is built like a linebacker naturally and his shoulders are approximately twice the width of his waist making jackets particularly hard to get in the right size. Secondly, the man is just plain picky! He hates dressing up and the thought of wearing a jacket made him visibly shudder. We finally found this nice, but not to dressy, Converse jacket at Target that fit him pretty darn well. Only problem is that an extra-large was impossible to find. I literally went to each and every Target in Austin, San Marcos and Cedar Park only to realize that I should have looked at Target.com – duh?! They did have it and we should have it in a couple of days, it will end up costing us about $20 more but I easily wasted that in gas and time.

We both bought shoes nice but comfortable shoes on Saturday morning and we both returned them on Sunday morning. My made for comfort brand shoes were anything but and C just can’t stand to spend more than $30 on anything. I thought $75 for a pair of shoes you’ll be walking miles in every day for weeks was reasonable but he found some cheaper ones that he’s had, and adored, before. What is a girl to do but smile and nod?

Now if I can just make it to the tailor to get my new jeans hemmed – so many reasons I wish God had gifted me with at least average length legs!

We’re getting there, slowly but surely. Will update more soon!

Much Love, Y’all!
