We Wander

Two twenty-somethings searching out the meaning of life through travel and fun.

Lists are a Dwindling April 28, 2008

Well, folks I’m working on the lists slowly but surely.  It’s lookin’ somethin’ like this:

PRE-EUROPE TO DO:

  • Convince someone to take us to the airport so as to avoid parking a car for 2 weeks
  • Oh, and convince someone else, or perhaps the same angel, to pick us up from the airport
  • Cell phone rental?
  • Moblogging?
  • Figure out how to get from Barcelona airport to hotel
  • Figure out how to get from Paris airport to hotel
  • Figure out how to get from Rome airport to hotel
  • Get in touch with dog sitter…dog sitter MIA & no longer with our vet! CRAP!
  • Find new dog sitter – You want how much!?
  • Con friends and neighbors into letting you pay them to dog sit (Needless to say we have AWESOME FRIENDS and plan to return the favor many times over!)
  • Order Euros
  • Deposit Savings
  • Put Mail on Hold
  • Check with hotels: wi-fi? safes big enough for my precious MacBook?
  • Load my old I-pod for C
  • Find a graduation dress
  • Mail graduation invitations (Party invites?)
  • Plan graduation party
  • See doctor
  • Make C see doctor
  • Make copies: passports, credit cards, driver’s licensces, insurance (health and traveller’s)
  • PACK!!!!

Two weeks minus one day until departure…should I be further along, you think?  I think!

Lists, Lists and more Lists April 16, 2008

I’m a list maker and a list crosser-offer extraordinaire, it’s true, I admit. I began the preliminary list making within my head some time ago but the official lists began yesterday. I purchased a new Five Star notebook, which I utterly adore, just for this purpose.

I’m doing well so far, I only have a couple of lists: To Do, To Buy and To Pack.

The first, To Do, is quite long but already I’ve gotten to check off the put hold on mail while away. This was particularly important since we have a tendency to “forget” to pick up our mail and I’m pretty sure the postman despises us for this. He actually came to our door on a Saturday for the sole purpose of what I’ve decided was to dissolve my marriage. He told me that my dear husband had recently told him I no longer live here – of which my husband assures me he is mistaken. Regardless, let’s just say it’s best of the dear old postman doesn’t have to make the decision of what to do with our mail for us. Check!

Preparing to be anywhere but home for any amount of time with a mortgage, a lovely kitty, Lexie, who recently had major reconstructive knee surgery mere weeks ago, and two high maintenance yet awesome doggies: Sugar, our beautiful old beagle, and Bosco, our rowdy 2-year-old Golden Labrador, is a feat. Doing so for a two week trip across that little pond seems plainly an insurmountable task.

Need sleep, oh and to study for a test that if I don’t do well on could mean not graduating two days before we leave for said little trip. Test tomorrow, 11 a.m. – Now, 10:25 p.m. Not Prepared.

Will report more soon –

Much Love,

K
