We Wander

Two twenty-somethings searching out the meaning of life through travel and fun.

Home Sweet Home May 28, 2008

Well we’ve been home for a couple of days and are still struggling to get back into the groove of normal life. Of course, that’s especially hard for me since now that I don’t have school I’m not exactly sure what normal life even means.

As I told our friend J this morning when he asked, I feel lazy! You mean I just go to the gym and work and that’s it? No homework, no studying for exams, no textbooks to read or papers to write? Wow – so I think I’ve decided I’m going to spend the summer getting my dad and his business through the crazy time of the year. Especially since I do love working for and with him and feel like a part of the business as opposed to jobs I’ve had in the past. I will be casually looking but I want to hold out for the right fit.

I also have this yearning to do all of these things I’ve always wanted to do but just didn’t have the time while working and going to school.  Maybe I’ll learn to speak another language (I was thinking Italian originally, but since I’ve been there I’m not so sure now), I really want to learn to play the guitar and I don’t have a bike so I’m going to save up some money for a cute bike with a basket so I can ride it to the coffee shop and read all the books I haven’t had the time for.  Been wanting to read The Millionaire Next Door, The 4-Hour Workweek (I met the author at SXSW this year and though he’s a little full of himself (okay, maybe a lot) he had some interesting points) and a few others.  I’d also like to take Bosco to some sort of agility class – I think it would be good and fun for us both.  More on all these thoughts later, though.

I’ve been meaning to do a wrap up post but getting unpacked and back into the groove have been more work than expected. Please stay tuned and I will get that up in the next couple of days. I’ll also be adding some more pictures and maybe even some video so definitely be on the lookout for those!

But I’d like to say thank you to everyone for reading and commenting – it was like taking all of our friends and family (and even some nice strangers) along with us. We can’t wait to go somewhere new so we can take you all there too!

We’re thinking Colorado in the summertime sounds real nice now that we’re back to the good ol’ Texas heat!

Be in touch soon, much love – K.
